Rendang recipe for the modern lazy woman!

Assalamualaikum..

So.. its the 5th or 6th day of Eid and the halt of visiting family and friends have commenced. Which.. also means that the feasting of rendang, ketupat palas, raya cookies, kuah lodeh, mee goreng etc have also stopped since all of us have a life of living to continue. However, since eid lasts for 30 days, there is still the festive vibe deep inside our souls... aka the party ain't over.

As the common lazy modern wife I am.. I have no idea in making the ancient rendang recipe from scratch. I mean.. honestly, these Malay aunties and grandmas didn't really write down their step by step recipe did they? Well maybe they did, but its not the same if I did it myself.

My husband requested that I should try make a rendang for him. Okay.. okay... *rolls eyes*..
Do I look like a person that can cook Rendang? Pftt please..NO! I NEED MY MOM to cook rendang!

So I did some research and came out with a shorter and less hassle way to cook rendang for woman who are like me! Lazy, hate the cleaning, but loves rendang.  This recipe is not 5 star.. but it surely feeds the craving. Hahaha.

What you'll need:

1) Rendang paste ( Brahims or any kind)
2) Full fat coconut milk (santan)
3) Coconut husks or paste
4) Salt and sugar
5) 500gm of bite size pieces of beef
6) Slow cooker

Recipe:
